Nokia Lumia 920 - A Windows 8 powered Smart phone that will put Nokia Back in the game.

This is it! The future of Nokia rests on the Windows 8 Operating System after it announced that it will no longer support Symbian as its OS from 2014. In other to keep in tune with the latest trends in the smart phone world controlled by both Android and Apple, Nokia announces the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 Windows 8 Smart phones today.

The latest flagship of Nokia is now the Lumia 920 described as "the most innovative smartphone in the world" bringing in Carl Zeiss lens camera and Nokia's PureView technology (I thought as much).

The Lumia 920 promises better images and better video than the competitors of today with an 8MP 3264 x 2448 pixels PureView camera. It comes with a bigger 4.5" 720p PureMotionHD+ (that's ClearBlack on stereoids) display, with curved glass on top of it. It is powered by the Snapdragon S4 chipset with a 1.5GHz dual-core Krait processor and Adreno 225 GPU. It comes with a 2000mAh battery

Ofcourse the phone comes with NFC 9Near Field Communication) and LTE connectivity with 32GB internal memory (No memory expansion slot) and as expected, 1GB RAM with support for micro-SIM card only.
Nokia Lumia 920 runs on Windows Phone 8 OS with new and refreshed Nokia Drive and Maps, system apps, Nokia City Lens and the 'eye catching' wireless charging (I hope this can lure potential buyers away from the upcoming iPhone 5). If you will be traveling with Virgin Atlantic, you will be able to charge your Lumia 920 using the built0in wireless charging as Nokia has teamed up with Virgin Atlantic to make that a reality. Also you will be able to do the wireless charging why taking your coffee at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (that's an added advantage).

Th Lumia 920 is expected to launch in glossy white, black and yellow (my favorite) colours. Ofcourse, pricing and availability were not announced with it, I hope it will be available when the Windows 8 OS is unveiled to the world in October.
Do you think Nokia Lumia 920 has what it takes to challenge Samsung Galaxy S III and the upcoming iPhone 5 for the top Smart Phone in 2012? Let me know through your comments. Thanks.

Stay Subscribed for the review of the Nokia Lumia 820, the second Windows 8 Smart Phone announced by Nokia.
