Samsung today announced the Galaxy Note II at the pre-IFA press conference. The Samsung Galaxy Note II is built around a 5.5" Super AMOLED screen of 1280 x 720 resolution (down from the 1280 x 800 resolution of the original Note).

Samsung Unveils The New Galaxy Note Tablet 10.1"

The new Samsung Galaxy Note Tablet is a one-of-it's-kind in the tablet world. The Tablet features stylus-like device(S-Pen), which provides more nuanced control of applications, the company said.
The S-Pen can be used to draw, write, navigate the user interface, and even capture a screenshot.
The tablet is fitted with a 10.1 inch (25.6 centimeter) screen of 1280x800 resolution, running on a quad-core Samsung own 1.4Ghz processor with a 2GB of RAM. It will come in either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB memory expandable via microSD card slot running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, to be upgraded to 4.1 Jelly Bean later. It has battery capacity of 7000mah.
The Galaxy Note is made in a bit to fight Apple's Ipad lead in the tablet world and the array of upcoming Windows 8 Tablets. The Galaxy Note is suggested to cost $499 for 16GB model and $549 for the 32GB model.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Blocked in US and Apple Awarded 27 New Patents
Apple is on a patent tear winning an injunction that bans sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in the United States. Adding to its patent victories the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded Apple 27 new patents , including a patent for scrolling, rotating, and scaling documents on touch screen devices.
The patent win against Samsung is considered one of Apple's biggest wins yet. Late Tuesday a federal court in California granted Apple a preliminary injunction finding the Galaxy Tab 10.1 to be substantiallysimilar "in the eyes of the ordinary observer" to an Apple patent (D504,889) and "virtually indistinguishable" from Apple's iPad and iPad2.
The Apple win could be short lived. It's expected that Samsung will appeal the ruling and, to be clear, the court ruling is pending further review.

Google Unveils It's Own Tablet - Nexus 7.
Google officially unveiled the Nexus 7 tablet at the Google I/O Developer Conference in San Francisco. Manufactured by ASUS, this is the first attempt by .
As the name suggests, the Google Nexus 7 features a 7" IPS display with a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The tablet is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 chip with 1GB of RAM and 12 core ultra-low voltage nVidia GeForce GPU.
And despite the capable hardware, Google managed to keep the price of the Nexus 7 impressively low. The slate will come in 8GB and 16GB flavors, which will retail for $199 and $249 respectively.
The Google Nexus 7 comes with Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth and NFC connectivity and Google Wallet preinstalled. Sadly, there isn’t a 3G model available, but obviously keeping the price as low as possible was key here. That's also the reason there isn't a camera atthe back, and only a 1.2MP front-facing snapper. However, it's capable of shooting 720p video, so it's not all bad.
Measuring 198.5 x 120 x 10.5 mm the 7-incher weighs in at 340 grams which is respectful for its size. The Amazon Kindle Fireand the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 will be having a hard time indeed.

Microsoft Surface announced – the company’s own Windows 8 tablet
Microsoft just announced its own tablet, named Surface, which blurs the line betweentablets and ultrabooks. The 10.6″ slate features simplistic design and compact measures, while offering a full-blown Windows 8 experience.
Microsoft’s latest creation will be offered in two flavors. The entry level one will run Windows RT for ARM based chips, while the fully tricked out version will be running Windows 8 Pro. The screen size on both versions will be 10.6″, but the Windows 8 Pro units will offer full HD resolution.
The Windows RT version is 9.3mm thin and weighs 676 grams. It will come with 32 or 64GB of built-in memory and the connectivity suite will include microSD, USB 2.0, Micro HD Video, 2×2 MIMO antennae. Expect the tablet to become commercially available around the time when Windows 8 gets launched, with a price in line with its rival offerings, according to Microsoft.
The Windows 8 Pro version of the tablet will come much closer to being a full-blown PC. Itwill be thicker and heavier than its Windows RT running sibling at 13.5mm and 903 grams respectively. The Pro Surface will come with more built-in memory as well. You will be able to grab a 64 or 128GB version of it. The connectivity suite of the Surface pro will include microSDXC, USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort Video, and 2×2 MIMO antennae. The Surface Pro will be available about three months after the entry-level version of the slate. It is said to be priced in line with similarly equipped ultrabooks.
Both the Windows RT running Surface and the Surface Pro will feature a built-in kickstand, which will pop out of their vapor-deposited (PVD) magnesium cases. The coolest feature for the slates however, is the Touch Cover. As its name suggests, the accessory looks like a typical tablet cover on the outside. Once you flip it open however, itreveals a full blown touch sensitive QWERTY keyboard, to go with a touchpad. Furthermore, the Surface Pro will feature Peninput with Palm Block.
