Apple is Now The Most Valuable Public Company in the World

Apple's market capitalisation reaches $621 billion making it the most valuable public company of all time.

The company's stock traded at a record price of $664.74 per share today from $664.12. Apple took the position from Microsoft that previously set and hold the record for a public company valuation at $618.9 billion in December 1999.


Apple's shares have been trading higher in anticipation of the production of iPad mini and the upcoming release of iPhone 5 and possibly a more powerful version of Apple TV.
